The wine of the day

2006 DOMINUS Red Wine (NAPA VALLEY)

99 POINTS, WILFRED WONG. (Tasted: July 17, 2009, Concord, CA USA) Deep ruby color with some translucency; impressive, dense red and black fruit aroma, tremendous focus; medium to full bodied, with surprising elegance and panache; long and persistent on the palate, fine sweet tannins; dry, nice acidity, excellent balanced; rich, complex red and black flavors with a streak of sweet leather running throughout; long finish, energetic aftertaste. There is no question that this is the best Dominus that has been produced! (Best Served: 2015-2027) [91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 35 Petit Verdot] [Aged 17 months in 40% new oak] [6,000 cases produced]

A day with Christian Moeuix

(Thursday, July 16, 2009, Yountville, CA USA)
A day with Christian Moeuix at Dominus
A super day that started with a warm greeting from my "cousin" Cherise" Moeuix, a Washington DC girl and long time wife of Christian. She was getting ready for a celebration dinner at Dominus. Fantastic time with Christian and his pals from the vineyards to the cellar and ending a lunch at Redd in Yountville.
